NEH Symposium on Preserving Audiovisual Heritage

Distributed via the AVinDH Mailing List:

Colleagues,

If you work with recorded sound and moving image materials in your research, documentation, or other activities, you may be interested in the following event.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) will host a one-day symposium on AV preservation on September 30, 2016. The event will follow the annual meeting of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) meeting in Washington, DC. The unique focus of this session is the inter-relationship of AV collections (and their preservation) with humanities research. There is no fee for the conference but register early as it is expected to fill up quickly.

A webpage for the event is under construction. In the meantime, if you would like to register, registration may be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/playbackneh

I look forward to seeing many of you at IASA and the NEH symposium in September, and again later in the fall at the SEM meeting.

 Best wishes – Jesse
